Campaign Info: Lou-Tayung

Durin the First Age, when the Dragon Blooded first rose up to overthrow the Solars, the Gold Sect of the Sidereal Exalted (who remained Loyal to their Leaders even to this day) foresaw the inevitable defeat of the corrupted Solar. Using powerful First Age Sorceries the Gold Sect shrouded one of the Solars most powerful Manses (the Monastery City of Lou-Tayung) in pure Essence in the hope of providing their Solar allies with a safe haven against the Dragon Blooded Coup.

The Sorceries took hold of the Manses inate elemental Essence and the Power of the combined Essence tore Lou-Tayung fully away from the solid foundation of Creation itself, forming a pocket dimension of Essence (Similar to Yu-Shan and the Hells).

Though now seperated Lou-Tayung remained connected to Creation by 3 strands of Essence, these strands are called Essence Tethers and all but 1 of these Tethers have been destroyed over the years to prevent the Scarlet Dynasty from discovering and destroying Lou-Tayung. Currently the last remaining Essence Tether (and there for the only entrance to the mystical city) is gaurded over by a Powerful Solar Exalted called "The Iron Fist" and his Disciples.

Unfortunately for the Gold Sect Sidreals their Solar allies pride and vanity led them to refuse to "Run" from the Dragon Blooded, the Sidreals talk of Solar defeat was Ignored. As a result the Monastery remained empty even as the last of the Solars were wiped out, the Sidreals tried to use the Manses power to fight against the Dragon Blooded but to no avail. The battles fought in those early years saw 2 of the Essence Tethers destroyed and the city itself simply abandoned.

Now, with the sudden disappearance of the Scarlet Empress and the return of the lost Solar Cycle of reincarnation, several Powerful Sidereal Exalted of the Gold Sect and with ties to the Cult of the Illuminated have taken it upon themselves to reopen the last Gate of Lou-Tayung. Together with devote members of the Cult of the Illuminated they have harnessed and reactivated the ancient First Age powers within Tayungs Manse and now use the location as both a safe haven and staging ground to begin gathering strength and power to bring to bear against this Age of Sorrows. This strength comes in the form of Ancient Magics, Powerful Artifacts and Mortals newly Exalted by the Unconquered Sun.

Currently the city is home to Hundreds of Mortal Adherents and followers of the Cult of the Illuminated (Who believe the return of the Solar heralds a new Age of wonder and prosperity) who have flocked to Tayung to aid the Solar however they can.

Along with these Mortal Followers came a large number of Warrior Monks of the Illuminated. These Monks have spent the majority of their lives training in ancient Martial Arts Styles from the First Age. Through their Devotion these unique individuals have gained a level of Enlightenment similar to Exaltation (Though far less powerful. They use their skills to aid and train newly Exalted Solars brought to Lou-Tayung by The Seekers. Additionally they are willing to lay down their lives in defense of the City should the Gateway ever be breached... An unlikely event given the constant and unending vigilance of The Iron Fist.
